Dr. Tobias Fischer (gas geochemist), Professor at the University of New Mexico, gives an overview of the capabilities and limitations of volcanic gas methods for characterizing tectonic and volcanic processes. This keynote was delivered at the GeoPRISMS Synthesis Workshop "Volatiles from Source to Surface" held in Bozeman, MT from May 23-26, 2022.
