Morning Devotion for Today | Day 252 | "Forgotten Doesn't Mean Forsaken" | Genesis 40

Good morning and welcome to Morning Devotions! Today is Day 252, and Happy Winning Wednesday. We're in Genesis 40, and the word for today is this: "Forgotten doesn't mean forsaken." Joseph is still in prison, but even there, God is with him. When Pharaoh's cupbearer and baker are thrown into the same prison and both have troubling dreams, Joseph reminds them that interpretations belong to God alone. He interprets both dreams accurately, down to the exact detail. The cupbearer is restored to his position in three days, just as Joseph said. Before he leaves, Joseph asks him for one thing: remember me when it goes well for you. But the cupbearer forgets. He walks out of that prison, back into his feast and his freedom, and Joseph never crosses his mind again. Two more years pass before he's finally remembered. That's God's timing, not ours. Even when it feels like no one remembers you, even when the answer takes far longer than three days, God has not left you and He has not forsaken you. Wait on the Lord, and be of good courage.
