A Prayer Before Work: Lord, Bless the Work of My Hands (Psalm 90:17)

If you're already thinking about everything this week will ask of you, take a quiet moment with God before the day pulls you in. You don't have to have the whole week figured out. You only have to start here, with Him. This gentle Monday morning prayer begins with the words of Psalm 90:17: "Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us." We give God this day before anything else, ask Him for a clear mind and a willing heart, and remember to work "heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men" (Colossians 3:23). Not to prove ourselves or chase approval, but to work with honesty and care because we are His. We pray for the people we work beside, and for everyone who is looking for work or worn out by the work they have. Let it play as your work week begins, breathe slowly, and pray along. You don't walk into this day alone. God is already there ahead of you. Our goal is simple: save one soul at a time.
