I just love this band.
The music, the vocals, the energy, the musicianship, their story, all of it. The Warning somehow feels like exactly what rock needed, even if we didn’t realize we needed it.
“Hell You Call a Dream” was another one that had basically everything I’ve come to love about them.
One thing that really stood out to me again was Dany’s vocal grit. She has this controlled, fry-like roughness underneath certain notes that reminds me a little of something Christina Aguilera will do on certain attacks. The impressive part is that Dany keeps the actual sung note completely at the forefront. The grit adds texture without becoming the dominant sound, which is a much narrower pocket to sit in than it sounds.
And then you add the melodies, the heaviness, the energy, Pau and Ale, and the fact that these three somehow keep sounding enormous as a three-piece band.
I’m completely in on The Warning at this point.
