Exploring Rowtor Rocks | Strange Carvings, Hidden Passages & Ancient Mysteries

Tonight we headed out to Rowtor Rocks near Birchover in Derbyshire, a fascinating and rather mysterious place hidden away in the Peak District. These unusual rock formations have been shaped and carved over the centuries, with strange markings, stone steps, seats and narrow passages cut into the gritstone. We spent the evening exploring the rocks, trying to find some of their more unusual features and taking in the atmosphere of this remarkable place. There’s plenty of history, folklore and mystery surrounding Rowtor Rocks, and it’s certainly somewhere worth visiting.
