Bellringing at St Andrew, Rugby (NE tower)

Some Spliced Surprise Major on this big, old-fashioned Mears & Stainbank eight. St Andrew's church is unique in having two separate towers, both with ringing bells - the west tower contains a lovely ring of five (9-2-3 in A flat) and the newer, north-east tower, contains a grand ring of eight (tenor around 24.5 cwt in D). Opinion is quite divided on these bells, but personally I thoroughly enjoyed them and the visit to Rugby was a high point in the weekend. They are easy and rewarding to ring and have an impressive, industrial sound to them. #bellringing #churchbells #warwickshire #rugby
