Mitchell Silk, Senior Official at Treasury on Being Hasidic, Working in Gov, and US-China Relations

Chabad West Village presents Hineni: Here I Am, featuring Mitchell Silk. Mitchell Silk is a distinguished attorney, former Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Treasury, and a deeply respected Jewish leader who has spent decades at the intersection of public service, faith, and moral responsibility. With clarity, humility, and conviction, Mitchell brings a rare perspective shaped by both government leadership and a profound commitment to Jewish life and continuity. In this candid and thoughtful conversation, Mitchell reflects on Jewish identity, responsibility in moments of moral testing, and what it means to say Hineni “here I am” at a time when courage, clarity, and presence matter more than ever. This powerful conversation was masterfully moderated by Neil Goldman, television producer and longtime partner in building the Hineni series. His insight, warmth, and thoughtful questions continue to elevate these conversations and make them deeply human and impactful. We are deeply grateful to Harry Cohen and Ethan Shire of the Paul Singer Foundation for their vision and leadership in making this program possible, and for inspiring our community through their steadfast support of meaningful Jewish dialogue and leadership. Hineni: Here I Am is Chabad West Village’s ongoing speaker series, bringing together prominent voices to share where they stand, what they believe, and how their values guide their leadership and lives. A heartfelt thank you to Mitchell Silk, Neil Goldman, Harry Cohen, Ethan Shire, Rabbi Berel and Chana Gurevitch, and everyone who helped bring this meaningful evening to life.
