How I Fixed an Amateur Mix Without Changing the Song

Someone sent me their mix through my submission page — its an original song called “Which One Is Mine” — and it needed real work. Washed out from reverb, guitars and vocals peaking on the recording side, and three separate bass tracks hogging the low end. I went back in, rebuilt the drums, re-recorded the guitars, cleaned up the vocals as far as they’d go, and condensed the bass to a single track.
