California’s September FRAUD WAVE — Fake Daycares, Navy Schemes & Newsom Subpoenas Nearly $270 million in fraudulent Medi-Cal claims. More than $10 million allegedly tied to fake daycare operations. $13 million in startup fraud allegations. $36 million stolen from more than 400 victims — plus homelessness funds, investment schemes and a Navy contracting case. September 2026 produced a remarkable series of California fraud cases. Some ended in guilty pleas or prison sentences. Others remain allegations. A separate development involving Gov. Gavin Newsom also emerged: federal investigators sought six years of records involving the California State Protocol Foundation and privately funded international travel. Newsom has not been charged with a crime. What connects these cases is simple: the gap between what the paperwork claimed — and what investigators later found. That distinction is where this story really begins. Some defendants have pleaded guilty or been sentenced. Other defendants have been charged or indicted, and criminal allegations remain allegations unless and until proven in court. The federal subpoenas involving records connected to the California State Protocol Foundation do not mean Gov. Gavin Newsom has been charged with a crime. No public filing cited in this video establishes that Newsom personally committed fraud or another criminal offense.
