President Trump’s $20 million taxpayer-funded advertising campaign has been BLOCKED by a federal judge — but court records show roughly $19 million in media buys had already been purchased.
A federal judge in New York temporarily halted a Department of Homeland Security advertising campaign featuring Donald Trump, freezing a $20 million CBP contract with LMD Agency and ordering the government to cancel remaining television placements.
But the court order is only the end of the money trail.
In this US 360 REPORT investigation, we reconstruct how federal money moved into the campaign, what the $20 million contract actually funded, why the advertisements triggered lawsuits, where they aired, and why some spots continued running even after the judge ordered them stopped.
Government records show a $20 million contract for a “National Media Campaign.” A sworn DHS declaration said approximately $19 million in media buys had already been purchased through October 11. Advertising-tracking data later showed some ads continuing to air after the court’s deadline. KRDO

→ $20M allocation
→ LMD Agency contract

THIS VIDEO BREAKS DOWN:
• Why taxpayer money funded the Trump advertisements
• What the $20M federal contract actually represents
• Why $20M contracted, ~$19M in media buys and other airtime estimates are different numbers
• Who received the advertising contract
• Why the campaign was challenged in federal court
• What Judge Jennifer Rochon actually blocked
• Why some advertisements continued after the deadline
• What has — and has NOT — been legally established
IMPORTANT CONTEXT
The court issued temporary injunctive relief. This is not a final judgment that Donald Trump, DHS, CBP or LMD Agency committed a crime or stole $20 million.
The judge found that the plaintiffs demonstrated they were likely to succeed on the merits and ordered the contract, future payments and related advertising activity temporarily stopped while the litigation continues. Justia Dockets & Filings
