Replacing the HEPA filters on a 2025 Tesla Model Y requires opening the trunk (frunk), removing the underhood apron and storage tube screws, and swapping the multi-piece filter set. Please see below for step-by-step instructions on how to replace the front HEPA filters. Tesla recommends changing these filters every 3 years (or sooner if you notice odors or drive in heavy pollution) How to Replace the Front HEPA Filters 1. Open the frunk and remove the rear underhood apron/panel by pulling up on the clips. 2. Disconnect the washer fluid reservoir neck bolt (10mm socket) attached to the frunk tub if necessary for clearance. 3. Remove the main filter housing cover by unscrewing the T20 Torx screws securing the panel. 4. Take out the old filters, noting their stacked orientation (vacuum any loose leaves or debris from the housing box before inserting new ones). 4. Install the new filters, making sure the directional airflow arrows or pleated/carbon sides match the orientation of the original layout. 5. Reassemble the cover panel, secure the screws, snap the apron back into place, and clear/reset your maintenance interval reminder in the vehicle’s service touchscreen menu.
