Jan 25, 2024 - We had a visit from a family friend who brought some snacks. William was super happy about those snacks, lol. I want to point out in this video you can see the word he was typing came up on the word prediction. For speed while communicating he should be then just choosing that word. Instead he looks at it and uses it to type out the rest of his word himself. This is one of the ways his obsession with letters actually interferes with his communication and slows him down. He wont take the shortcut because he wants and loves to type the letters. On the other hand if he wasn't so obsessed with letters I doubt he would be typing at all, so we take what we get and encourage him to use the word prediction as much as possible. оО〇・-・〇Оо・-・оО〇・-・〇Оо・-・оО〇・-・〇Оо William is my youngest. He was diagnosed with severe autism when he was 2.5 years old. He regressed around 1.5 years old and lost all of his words and many of his developmental skills. He is completely non verbal. Currently, he is working hard to learn to communicate with an electronic speech device.
