Hidden Details in Batman: Arkham City You Never Noticed! | Batman Lore
A dead man's confession scratched into a cell wall. Two words painted in dripping letters on the brick, counting down beside a number. Most people sprinted past both of them, and everyone who slowed down found the rest stacked behind.
North Gotham lost a square mile the night the walls went up. Condemned, emptied, fenced behind concrete, then handed over as a prison with no guards inside, with Hugo Strange given the keys and a title he kept hidden from everyone. He dropped names he should not have known, kept one file closer than the others, and the men patrolling the streets answered to a private army with a single letter on its armor. His countdown had a name, Protocol 10, and it was never a lockdown.
Between Bruce Wayne being marched through the front gates in cuffs and the last hour before sunrise there is one continuous night, no time skips, sky never brightening. Inside it: 400 riddles and the killing rooms built for hostages, a killer who only confesses on real holidays, a surgeon peeling faces to assemble one of his own, a hooded watcher standing on eight rooftops, assassins who were in this city before the walls were, and the buried Wonder City under the subway lines. Out at the edge of the map sits a sealed brick wall that opens onto a room no player was meant to stand in, covered in notes, symbols and a figure in chains that describe a chapter the game did not contain. It ends, as it had to, on a theater floor with a cure spreading across the stone and a man carrying a body into the snow.
