Behind The Scenes at Leiper's Fork Distillery

This month's Slow Whisky Club takes us to Leiper's Fork Distillery in the Harpeth River Valley, just south of Nashville, Tennessee - and founder Lee Kennedy shows us around. Leiper's Fork makes bourbon and Tennessee whiskey the pre-Prohibition way. Pot-distilled on a copper swan-neck still. Sweet mash, fresh every time. Off the still at 137 proof, into the barrel at 110. Hand-bottled in batches of 10–20 barrels. Around 500 barrels a year - roughly what Jack Daniel's makes before lunch. Lee calls it "inefficient by design."
