Welcome to another week at Gyeori Goun-ga, our home and garden in the Korean countryside. This week, I gave the garden a fresh autumn makeover. I pulled out messy, fading flowers, spread a fresh layer of clean coco chips, and trimmed back some unruly branches. A big thank-you to Bomchan for kindly sending us their coco chips! I thought I'd enjoy all that time off, but it turns out that doing absolutely nothing isn't always as satisfying as it sounds. Funny how that works! Still, it was lovely to cook homemade meals with my family, practice the ukulele, and take peaceful walks with Yeoreumi along a beautiful trail. And the best news of all? I finally found the cause of the foot pain that had been bothering me for months, and I'm now receiving treatment. It's such a relief to feel the pain easing. You really don't realize how much you miss feeling comfortable until you get it back. A tidier garden, a little more time with family, and hopefully, a healthier me.
