Every year the same email goes round, asking the legal entities for data that no system can give you. Several weeks later the last one arrives, and somebody opens every attachment by hand. This is a walkthrough of a different way to do it, built in ONESOURCE DataFlow. The example is a UK corporation tax disallowables analysis, because it is a job we both used to do. Treat the subject as incidental. What is worth watching is the shape: one template per company, the trial balance arriving on its own from General Ledger Manager, an AI proposing a category and a reason for every line, a person overruling it where they disagree, and the whole lot landing in the corporation tax computation through an API with nothing rekeyed. We made the inputs deliberately awkward. Different suppliers, different layouts, and one invoice that is a photograph of a piece of paper with no text in it at all. One of them does not go in, and you will see why. Four questions to ask of any process you run: Is the same information collected from several people, more than once? To report across all of it, do you have to open every file? Is more time spent managing the process than doing the work? Does each entity end up with its own version, and next year a new one? And one that rules it out. If a system can already give you the data, this is the wrong tool. Find out more : https://www.ospreyconsulting.co.uk/se...
