In this one, we return to Dorchester West Station to see the monthly Network Rail PLPR Test Train pass on through. However, this occasion was very different from the norm. Instead of being operated by a pair of Colas Class 43 HST Power Cars, this edition was operated by a pair of Class 37's from Swietelsky. These locos do sometimes take on this service, but it's very rare for it to actually happen. So it's important to take the opportunity to go and see it when they do, which I exactly what happened right here. As a confession, I was originally only going to capture this as a little short down at the Cricket Club while on it's return journey, but after learning that the 37's were going to be on this one, it got upgraded to a full on video shot from Dorchester West Station. The Swietelsky Class 37's that were on this service were 37419 'Agamemnon' and 37422 'Pegasus' respectively. The later of which has attempted twice already this year take on a Weymouth bound Test Train (one from each line leading towards it) but both occasions unfortunately feel through. It did recently come down here on a past-midnight Test Train, but this occasion marks the first time coming down in broad daylight, finally giving me to opportunity to see this loco in the flesh, as well as a sister loco in the same livery, which was certainly from past 37's that have made the trek down here. You'll also notice a pair of GWR Class 166 Networker Turbo's that appear at various points throughout, including one waiting for the Test Train to pass by. These units were 166210 and 166212 respectively.
