Ananya, who is highly regarded as a very powerful actor, explains that she doesn't feel satisfied with any kind role in cinema. Unless the role challenges her, she feels frustrated to act. She also claims that she doesn't act for pittance, and unless the payment is good, she would not take up an assignment. In this context she explains that she comes from a middle-class family, and doesn't feel like chasing money or glamour. Those who know her would say that she is hardly seen in filmy parties. Ananya explains, "I am a private person, would like to lead a peaceful life." On how she approaches portraying roles, she is straightforward. "Most of the time it's just instinct, there is no hard and fast rule that I follow,." she says. She talks about her childhood, her upbringing and says that she never aspired to be an actor.
