Forte tried rebuilding his local Pokémon GO community after COVID. His first Community Day meetup attracted basically nobody.
So he changed his approach.
In this episode of As The Pokéball Turns, Forte shares how scavenger hunts, family-focused outreach, public events, and lessons from his Ingress days helped grow a small-town Pokémon GO community from roughly 10 attendees to events reaching around 60 people including children.
He also discusses teaching newer Trainers, building local PokéStops through Wayfarer, creating memorable websites for communities, and launching PoGO Community Checkpoint after The Silph Road announced its closure.
Forte may call himself a casual player, but community organizing has become one of his favorite ways to experience Pokémon GO.
