Filament manufacturers often offer matte versions of their materials, but there is usually a trade-off. With PLA, matte filaments often show reduced layer adhesion and lower strength along the Z-axis. But does the same apply to PETG? In this video, I compare three FilamenTree PETG filaments: Standard PETG, Matt-5 PETG, and Matt-7 PETG. I tested their mechanical properties, temperature resistance, creep behavior, dimensional accuracy, and print quality to find out how much performance is sacrificed for a more matte appearance.
