#muhoozikainerugaba #bobiwine #museveni #ugandaeyenkya #ugandanews On this episode of Wamala Speaks on Uganda Eyenkya, we dismantle six decades of state propaganda and expose the bitter truth behind Uganda’s independence narrative. For 64 years, Ugandans have been sold the grand illusion of freedom and democracy, yet the practical reality on the ground remains a brutal military dictatorship. When Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the National Resistance Army took to the Luwero bushes in 1981 promising a fundamental change, fundamental human rights, and the rule of law, few anticipated the decades of betrayal that would follow. Today, we pull back the curtain on how those liberation promises were shattered, turning independence into a hollow slogan while citizens remain trapped in fear and state-sponsored terror. We bring you a comprehensive, evidence-based investigation documenting the shocking record of human rights violations inflicted on Ugandans from 1986 to the present day. From the dark horrors of the 1989 Mukura train wagon massacre and the 2016 Kasese palace raid to the November 2020 bloodbath on the streets of Kampala, state security forces have consistently used lethal force against unarmed civilians. We name and document the stories of prominent political leaders, journalists, and everyday citizens—from Dr. Kizza Besigye, Bobi Wine, and Hon. Francis Zaake and Kakwenza Rukirabashaija to Olivia Lutaaya, Eric Mwesigwa, and young victims like 15-year-old Amos Ssegawa. We expose the illegal safe houses, CMI dungeons, and the lingering legacy of Nalufenya that continue to operate under the shadow of state intelligence agencies. Beyond domestic terror, this episode goes deep into the international hypocrisy bankrolling the Museveni regime. We expose how Western powers—specifically the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union—continue to fund, train, and equip Uganda’s security apparatus under the guise of regional peace operations in Somalia and the DRC. While foreign embassies issue empty press statements condemning police brutality and abductions by unmarked "drones," their taxpayers’ money pays for the military hardware, logistical support, and security payroll that keep the dictatorship afloat. We explain why foreign geopolitical interests have consistently been prioritized over the lives, liberties, and human rights of the Ugandan people. We also examine the constitutional and legal frameworks that the NRM regime has systematically violated over the past four decades. Despite Uganda being a signatory to the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights, and the UN Convention Against Torture, these commitments exist only on paper. We dissect Chapter 4 of Uganda's 1995 Constitution, highlighting the constant infringement on Article 20, Article 23, Article 24, and Article 29. By comparing Museveni’s record with past leaders since 1962—including Obote and Amin—we demonstrate how institutionalized torture, safe houses, and voter suppression have surpassed previous regimes under the cover of sophisticated diplomacy. Join host Wamala as we demand accountability, justice, and genuine liberation for every Ugandan whose rights have been trampled upon. True independence will never be achieved through ceremonial parades or theoretical phrases, but through unyielding truth and national civic awakening.
