I’ve said before that I came to Canada as an international student and became a permanent resident within about a year. 🇨🇦 But what I hadn’t really shared was HOW I did it. One of the biggest things I did was dust off my French after more than 13 years and prepare for the TEF Canada exam. I also took CELPIP, strengthened my English results, and used English as my first official language and French as my second in my Express Entry profile. That decision opened opportunities I might not otherwise have had. And before you say, “But Michelle, you already knew French…” 😄 — we’re talking about that too. Because the bigger lesson from my story isn't simply “learn French and get PR.” Immigration doesn't work that way. It's about looking at your own profile and asking: What can I improve? What opportunities am I overlooking? And what can I start preparing for NOW? If Canada is part of your long-term plan—or you're already here trying to figure out your pathway to permanent residence—I made this video especially for you. 🎥 How French Helped Me Get Canadian PR in 1 Year — What I Actually Did! And if you're considering learning French from scratch, tell me in the comments. I may make the next video specifically about how to start learning French and prepare towards TEF Canada.
