Bodies Flag Food Safety Concerns, Seek Quality Testing And Support For Local Farmers Goa’s poultry associations have demanded stricter checks on imported chicken and frozen meat, citing food safety and quality concerns. They said the state consumes around 70,000 to 80,000 birds daily, while local production meets only a small share of demand. Referring to recent FDA raids, they sought temperature checks, quality testing, disease-free certificates and proper disposal of seized stock. They also called for pricing regulation and support for modern poultry farming.
