At the same time, Sendai Station is the main transport hub, with many JR local lines observing it, making it easy to reach different areas. In September 2026, I went for my first visit to Sendai, which the transport network was convenient, and I was lucky to ride on several lines. The first one introduced is the JR Senzan Line, which goes through the mountains of Tohoku. The Senzan Line is the only railway link between Sendai and Yamagata Prefecture. Although it has long competed with highway buses, the Senzan Line still plays an important role as it serves Aoba Ward residents and connects to many tourist spots. In this episode, we will travel from Sendai to Yamadera using the front view, and there will be narration about the history and operations along the way. The most memorable part is the change of sceneries, and you can feel the atmosphere of city, suburbs and mountains in the ride.
