Originally built in the 11th century, Conisbrough Castle is located in South Yorkshire, England. It is now in the stewardship of English Heritage.
Unlike most English castles it wasn't pounded mercilessly in the English Civil War since subsidence had already caused so much damage that it had become derelict.
It became a tourist destination as far back as the 19th Century, no doubt fuelled by the Sir Walter Scot romance Ivanhoe which featured the castle.
The sharp-eyed amongst you might catch a glimpse of the rather stunning Conisbrough Viaduct in the background of some shots. It's quite a feat of engineering, containing over 15 million bricks and employing a new type of construction process in its building.
