Citta dei Sassi - di varie grandezza

Shaky weather forecast and still slightly damp from the rain the night before, we were quite unsure what to do: a short easy hike or a day-hike but flexible itinerary. We were misguided to take the short easy hike while the sky cleared completely and the weather turned out to be stably sunny and beautiful. Still, our choice was not too bad as Città dei Sassi, the city of rocks, located at Passo Sella at the foot of famous Sassolungo, is a nice place to be and to discover. Staying on the main path is a waste. In the cloudy, misty weather, taking the little side paths let you enter an enchanted little world of the rocks having scrambled down from Sassolungo ages ago. We started at Passo Sella and left Città dei Sassi on the other side, which is basically the skiing area Gran Paradiso, walkting to Rifugio Emilio Comici. While it was not too crowded, we still decided to head down the slope to Baita Sa Sela for a coffee and strudel. Please, only go to the mountains well equipped - especially to the Dolomites, even if it may be described an easy hike. Please, respect no fly zones and check those with D-Flight app - flight limitations exist around Sassolungo. Citta dei Sassi is no fly zone.
