CJP’s Ashutosh Ranka Detained In Guwahati Ahead Of Volunteer Meet | Assam

CJP co-convener Ashutosh Ranka and several party workers were detained by Assam Police in Guwahati on September 27, shortly before the organisation’s first regional volunteers’ meeting in the state. Reports said more than 30 CJP workers were detained, while the party claimed a higher number. Ranka alleged that the Assam government was trying to prevent the group from raising questions over schools, electoral rolls, Kaziranga and other issues. The CJP also alleged that volunteers were stopped from reaching the meeting venue.
