Goodbye Maasai Mara, Hello Bwindi! 🌿 Uganda 🇰🇪🇺🇬

From the open plains of Kenya’s Maasai Mara to the lush forest around Bwindi Lodge in Uganda—our family adventure is entering a new chapter! 🌿 Join us on 13–14 June 2026 as we say goodbye to Rekero Camp and make our way to Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge. We begin with a final safari transfer to Ol Kiombo Airstrip, followed by a light-aircraft flight to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. A stop at Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport Hotel gives us a chance to freshen up before continuing to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Our journey into Uganda takes us through Entebbe, with a short rest at No. 5 Boutique Hotel Entebbe before our Aerolink flight to Kihihi Airstrip. From there, we travel by road through the green countryside to Bwindi Lodge, our home for the next three nights. At Bwindi, the adventure takes on a different flavour: leafy surroundings, learning about tea processing, and a hands-on local cooking experience. Alongside the flights and changing scenery, it’s these moments with the people we meet that make the journey feel special. This episode follows our journey to Bwindi and our first experiences around the lodge, with our gorilla trekking adventure still ahead.
