Every Child Known, Loved, and Educated: Gestalt Community Schools Story

“New Leaders is transformational.” In 2008, during a time of foreclosures and high unemployment in Memphis, a New Leaders alum saw that too many local middle schools weren’t serving students well. She started a school focused on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and community service. That school became Gestalt Community Schools, a network grounded in one belief: every child should be known, loved, and educated. Today, New Leaders alumni lead Gestalt at every level. In this film, you’ll hear from its leaders, principals, teachers, families, and even a former student who now works there.
