Bishop Dag Heward-Mills uses the vivid illustration of Asterix and Obelix's magic potion to describe the power of the Holy Spirit as living water. Just as Obelix fell into the potion and became permanently strong, drinking the living water of the Holy Spirit makes a believer strong and transforms them from the inside out. He contrasts this lasting power with temporary worldly satisfaction. He humorously compares a boyfriend who says 'I love you baby' in November but changes his mind by March to the living water that still works after ten, twenty years and for a lifetime. He drives the point home with the example of those who trusted in a job at Credit Suisse only to see it shut down, showing that worldly security is temporary while the Holy Spirit's work in the believer endures forever. He charges listeners to drink deeply of the living water found only in Jesus Christ.
