Rap Battle: Peacemaker vs Hit-Monkey | (DC vs Marvel)

This matchup has been in my brain for ages now Between me loving Peacemaker both in show and in comic, loving John Cena in general, and my brother showing me Hit-Monkey which I ended up really liking, this whole thing was just a perfect typhoon of chaos. I was going to do it a while back but had to wait for Peacemaker season 2 incase something dissable happens which it definetly did. This one was usually just sat in the background being slowly finished over time as other more usual ideas were finished much quicker, either way I hope you all like this one I was very happy to see no one else had really thought of it (least in my research). Peacemaker is a character with a complicated history and I’ll admit I wasn’t really into him until I heard Cena was playing him in live action. That announcement got me to check him out and hes definetly older and more complicated than you’d think. Anyway the first season releases and it is genuinely one of my favorite superhero shows period. If you kept Peacemaker at the one season portion itd be so great, and while I enjoy a lot of bits from season 2 a lot of it is bogged down by the awful ending. I know its setting up stuff for the future but holy cow we are going to be waiting for ages for that and quite frankly I have a lot more trouble waiting for things when we don’t have an actual timeline for it. But everything else I quite enjoyed, the side characters are amazing, Robert Patrick as usual is so great in his role to the point he gets uncomfy to watch lol. Cena of course steals the show, though I will say while I love Vigilante in that show, he is a staggering departure from the og, bro acts more like Deadpool than Vigilante. It probably doesn’t help I prefer the cowboy iteration of the character to begin with. Hit-Monkey is a newer character like early 2010’s. I know now that doesn’t seem very new but compared to a lot of comic greats that is shockingly fresh. I started with the Hulu animated series because my brother hesrd some great things and we got into the show real quick. It helped that Bryce was voiced by Red Angry Bird ngl and Hit-Monkey while he doesn’t talk is still portrayed amazingly by Marvel Legend Fred Tatascore who is usually the go to for Hulk voice wise. The first season is a great little package that adapts Monkeys first solo series and while it does take some departures my least favorite being replacing Bullseye with Lady Bullseye (she isnt bad I just love the og and he is REALLY funny in the comic). Overall though it is a really fun watch, season 2 though tried doing more of its own thing to various results. I like Bryces arc, but Monkey just genuinely seems to get dumber as the season goes and he becomes incredibly frustrating to watch. The ending also was extremely 50/50 which I wont spoil here just in case, but for both of these shows I genuinely wouldn’t blame you for just watching season 1 then stopping! Trust me you leave happier.
