When The World Feels Out of Control

There are moments when the world feels like it is spinning faster than our hearts can handle. You turn on the news, and there is another war. You check your phone, and there is another tragedy. You look at your bills, and the pressure keeps rising. You look at your family, and everybody is carrying something. You look at the nation, and it feels divided. You look at the world, and it feels unstable. You look inside your own soul, and you wonder, “Lord, how much more can we take?” We are living in days when people are anxious, angry, exhausted, lonely, suspicious, and spiritually unprepared. Today, families are being shaken by grief. Communities are being shaken by violence. Nations are being shaken by war. Young people are being shaken by anxiety. Parents are being shaken by fear. Churches are being shaken by compromise. Men are being shaken by pressure they often do not even know how to name. But Jesus does not deny the trouble. He looks His disciples in the face and says, “In the world you will have tribulation.” He tells the truth. But He does not stop there. He says, “But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” So the question today is not, “Will trouble come?” Trouble is already here. The question is, “Where can peace be found when the world feels out of control?” Join me as I preach on the topic, “When the World Feels Out of Control.”
