Somewhere in central Ohio there's an island that floats, and you're allowed to set foot on it one day every two years. We count down ten Ohio islands you can actually visit: Whiskey Island in Cleveland, Catawba, Canada's Pelee Island (by ferry from Sandusky), the Civil War prison island of Johnson's Island, Middle Bass and its castle winery, ferry-less North Bass, Ohio State's Gibraltar Island, Put-in-Bay on South Bass, Kelleys Island and its glacial grooves, and at number one, Cranberry Bog in Buckeye Lake. Every entry ends with the Honest Check: the median home value against Ohio's (where the Census publishes one), one real downside, and who should skip it. Maps and charts are original to Hidden Ohio. Stock footage that stands in for a place is labelled "Illustrative" on screen, and archive film is labelled with its date.
