Werribee Line Single Tracking & One-way Altona Loop Operations - Metro Trains Melbourne [4k]

Between the 17th November 2025 and the 10th April 2026 the Werribee Line operated under a temporary timetable due to the level crossing removal works at Maddox Road in Newport. During this period the Werribee Line operated with a 1.5km single track section between the Champion Road level crossing and Altona Junction. To maintain operational flexibility and the level of peak-hour services, the temporary timetable also saw the Altona Loop operate in one direction only. Trains towards the city ran express between Laverton and Newport on the express route, while trains towards Werribee ran via the Altona Loop. The temporary timetable also allowed heritage trains to visit the Altona Loop for the first time since 2019. For this video we not only see trains operating on the single track section, but we also see one-way Werribee-bound trains on the Altona Loop. We also see snippets of the Steamrail Laverton Shuttles with K183 and the Tait, which visited the Altona Loop. This video was filmed on various dates between December 2025 and April 2026.
