The Good Life — Week Three | Pastor David S. Jones | New Vision Church A life that looks successful is not always a life that can carry the weight of a calling. In this message from Matthew 7:1–27, Pastor David S. Jones teaches that the good life is not built by simply hearing the words of Jesus—it is built by trusting Jesus enough to obey Him. Jesus calls us to examine our own foundation, choose the narrow way that leads to life, pursue a real relationship with Him, and build now for storms we cannot predict. The storm does not necessarily create what is wrong with our foundation. Often, it reveals what we have been building on all along. In this message, you’ll be challenged to: Check your own foundation before diagnosing someone else’s life. Replace self-righteous judgment with humility, repentance, and gentle restoration. Choose the narrow way instead of drifting into a life you never intended to live. Understand that being around Jesus is not the same as truly knowing Jesus. Remember that obedience is not the price of salvation—it is the evidence of surrender. Build spiritual depth before prioritizing gifts, influence, activity, or public ministry. Establish your life on the Rock before the rain falls, the streams rise, and the winds blow. Every season brings different weather, but Jesus offers a foundation that can stand. Whether you are building for the first time, rebuilding after something collapsed, carrying regret, or considering the legacy you will leave in others, the invitation is the same: build deeper. Key Scripture: Matthew 7:1–27 Key Verse: Matthew 7:24 Also referenced: Deuteronomy 30:19; Galatians 6:1 The good life is not about chasing a life that merely looks good. It is about building a life on Jesus—one that the storm cannot take.
