【首里城】何度焼けても建て直された城、2026年に5度目の復活

From outside it has two roofs; inside, three floors; its front is about 28.7 meters wide. Before dawn on October 31, 2019, this hall burned down. It was the fifth time on record that it had been lost to fire. And on November 22, 2026, a ceremony will mark the completion of the new Seiden. What history has the Seiden of Shuri Castle been through, and how was the new Reiwa-era Seiden put together? From the royal palace of the Ryukyu Kingdom through the Battle of Okinawa, the Heisei restoration and the 2019 fire, we follow its history in order and build the Reiwa Seiden in 3D from a bare stone platform, in construction order. The order of the pillars follows the Heisei restoration records. We also look at the debate over which way the great dragon pillars at the front should face.
