Nikki's 9th driving lesson - Lessons M3 & M4 This is Nikki's ninth driving lesson with Bob (making it about 9 hours of tuition so far). As usual Nikki has completed the workbook and DVD. Nikki decides to focus on to lesson M3 and M4 in the programme. Unlike traditional instruction LDC heavily promotes student centred learning rather than the instructor centred fault orientated learning approach offered by most other driving schools. This involves the student being encouraged to take more responsibility for their own development by using the LD System materials before and after each lesson and by using discovery learning with self determination and reflection; rather than being continually criticized and told what to do by the instructor. In particular talk through instruction, prompted practice and long winded explanations are avoided, if at all possible - instead encouraging the student to work it out for themselves. This series of videos shows Bob using the new LD System workbook as he helps Nikki learn to drive. The idea behind the LD System is that you watch the video, do a quiz in the workbook and then put the lesson into practice. The workbook also contains a set of activities and targets for each practical lesson along with a reflective diary to help you consolidate your learning, explore your progress and plan what you want to do next.
