Three hours of Claude Monet's Poppy Field near Argenteuil (Les Coquelicots), shown full screen in 4K. It is a quiet, calm background for work, study, relaxation or sleep. Monet painted this oil on canvas in 1873, when he was 33 and living in Argenteuil, a town on the Seine near Paris. The canvas measures 50 × 65 cm. A woman with a parasol and a child walk down the hillside in the foreground. A second mother and child appear higher up among the red poppies. The foreground figures are probably Monet's wife Camille Doncieux and their son Jean. The painting was shown at the first Impressionist exhibition in Paris in 1874. Étienne Moreau-Nélaton donated it to the French state in 1906, and it has hung in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris since 1986. Credit: Claude Monet, Poppy Field (Les Coquelicots), 1873.
