Written in the Stars – The Origins of Hercules | Greek Mythology Sleep Story

Drift off to sleep as Adam tells, in a deep and gentle voice, the story of the birth of Hercules: how the greatest hero of the Greek myths came into the world, long before his twelve labours. 🌙 ABOUT THIS EPISODE A cow breaks from the herd at the gate of Mycenae, and a long road begins. Zeus makes one night last as long as three, a goddess sits knotted on a doorstep, two serpents come to a cradle made of a bronze shield, and the milk of Hera spills across the sky as the Milky Way. Then come the quiet herdsman's years on Mount Cithaeron, the choice between two roads, and the long walk to Delphi, where the young Alcides receives a new name: Hercules. A slow, calm telling of how a hero began. 📜 THE TWELVE LABOURS OF HERCULES Hercules, son of Zeus and the strongest man who ever lived, was bound to serve King Eurystheus and perform twelve impossible labours, from the Nemean lion to the hound of the underworld. This series follows him labour by labour, one story for each night, retold from the ancient Greek myths. This first episode tells of his origins. ▶ Full series playlist:    • The 12 Labours of Hercules   🎙️ ABOUT THE VOICE This story is told by Adam, in a deep, calm voice.
