Mastodon Turn Tragedy Into Triumph on Marrow Deep

Mastodon co-founders Troy Sanders and Brann Dailor sit down with Consequence for a raw, wide-ranging Cover Story conversation about loss, brotherhood, and their new album, Marrow Deep. The band has been through an extraordinary amount in the past two years: Sanders lost his home to Hurricane Helene, Dailor lost his mother, and the band parted ways with founding guitarist Brent Hinds — who tragically died in a motorcycle accident in August 2025.
