Engineering work at Edinburgh Waverley sees 37162 waiting at platform 10 at the head of a ballast train which then moves down to platform 11.
37377 was sitting in platform 12 with another ballast train.
Completing a trio of Class 37's was 37428 which departed 20 minutes late with the 1H97, 14.35 Edinburgh-Taynuilt Royal Scotsman.

A day at Carlisle starts with 31110 and 31203 at the head of a rake of Autoballasters and 31190 stabling opposite platform 1.
60043 passes with the 6S86 Milford Sidings-Ayr empty MGR, 31110 and 31203 fire into life and then head South at 11.35.
31190 is seen again before 37055 trundles by with the 6G85 Workington-Bescot before 86212 departs with the 10.40 Edinburgh-Brighton, 47310 heads for Kingmoor Yard and 60077 passes through with the 6S88 Milford Sidings-Ayr empty MGR.
Five minutes later steam locomotives 48151 and 75014 arrived with a Carnforth-Fort William empty stock move for the summer Jacobite service which stopped for watering at Carlisle. The locomotives and support coach ran off and reversed into platform 1 for watering.
37055 returned with 6G85 passing 156508 and 156494 on the 10.00 Stranraer-Newcastle, 60002 headed North with an empty MGR, 60024 gies the opposite way with the 7Z38 Hunterston-Milford Sidings loaded MGR and, having been re-watered, 48151 and 75014 pass 86210 on the way to couple back up to the coaches.
87017 departs with the 08.45 London Euston-Glasgow Central, 48151 and 75014 depart, 31554 is seen alongside 31190 having come down from Kingmoor Yard, 90018 departs with the 13.40 Glasgow Central-London Euston then 31190 and 31554 head off down the West Coast mainline.
47310 returns with the 6G94 Carlisle Yard-Bescot, 60010 heads a loaded MGR through the station and 60091 passes with an empty MGR, 142066 sporting the new Northern Spirit livery departs with the 16.09 Carlisle-Newcastle and Saltburn, 90130 pauses for a crew change with the 4M74 Mossend-Wembley, 92019 passes with the 6M27 Mossend-Bescot, which was previously booked for a Class 56 or 60, and 60071 slows and then creeps away from a signal check with the 7M32 Knockshinnoch-Fiddlers Ferry loaded MGR.
86612 and 86628 are seen on the 4L60 Coatbridge-Felixstowe Freightliner and we conclude with 90020 working the 65 minutes late 12.30 London Euston-Glasgow Central.
