What if the Bible never actually promised believers that they would spend eternity in heaven? Throughout Scripture, the promise of inheritance is repeatedly connected to the earth, the land, the Kingdom, Abraham, and ultimately Christ. In this video, we trace that promise from Genesis through the New Testament. God promised Abraham and his Seed an inheritance — yet Scripture tells us that Abraham died without receiving the fullness of what was promised. The New Testament then reveals that the promised Seed is Christ. So what happens to the promise? We’ll also examine passages commonly used to teach that believers are going to heaven, including Jesus’ words: “In My Father’s house are many mansions…” — John 14:2 What did “My Father’s house” mean in Scripture? What are the “many dwellings”? And when Christ says He will return and receive us to Himself, where is He coming to establish His Kingdom? Rather than beginning with tradition, let’s follow the promise through Scripture and allow the Bible to define the inheritance of God’s people. 📖 Topics include: Abraham’s inheritance • Christ as the promised Seed • the resurrection • the Kingdom of God • John 14 • the coming Kingdom • the inheritance of the saints • Christ’s return • the renewed earth Let Scripture have the final word.
