Maine's Busiest Passenger Railroad (For one weekend) - Belfast & Moosehead Lake Fair Trains 9/25/26

For one weekend every year the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad operates the busiest train station in the state of Maine with about 5,000 passengers riding to and from it across three days. The station is the small platform at the Common Ground Country Fair in Unity, Maine. Two trainsets constantly shuttle passengers from both Thorndike and Unity to the fair which is in the middle of those two points. This way you can skip the traffic hassle and get to the fair faster all while also going for a train ride. In September of 2026 I ventured up north to the BML to capture this operation from their Unity and Thorndike Stations. Traffic was bad and only moving very slowly but the trains were running on time and apparently just about full with some being standing room only. This video starts off at Thorndike before we jump over to Unity to see the second trainset. Note the diverse passenger equipment BML uses including Swedish passenger cars.
