The World Series Is BACK in Milwaukee After 44 Years — Brewers Take Game 1, 3-2

Game 1 of the 2026 World Series is in the books — and Milwaukee is celebrating. The Brewers held off the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 on Friday night in Game 1 at American Family Field, winning their first World Series game in 44 years in front of 43,250 screaming fans. Jacob Misiorowski opened the game with a 103.5 mph fastball, the fastest pitch ever tracked in the World Series, and went 5 innings for the win. Christian Yelich's RBI triple and William Contreras's RBI single in the 1st held up, with Contreras also throwing out 2 runners and winning 2 ABS challenges. The 9th was pure chaos — an overturned game-ending double play loaded the bases before Trevor Megill struck out Jonny DeLuca to end it. Teams that win Game 1 take the series 62.8% of the time. Game 2 is Saturday night in Milwaukee (8 PM ET, FOX): Drew Rasmussen vs Logan Henderson. #WorldSeries #Brewers #Rays #MLB #MilwaukeeBrewers #TampaBayRays #Baseball #SidelineStories Subscribe to Sideline Stories for daily sports stories.
