Vercel says ten people used to sort every sales lead that came in through its website, and that now one person checks an AI agent's work while the other nine sell. Did the move pay off? This video checks what the public record shows: what the company says it changed, what it says it got, and the one before-and-after number that is not disclosed by Vercel. All figures are company-reported; none is audited.
You can run the same check on a big decision in your own company: three stops, one from each part of the method. Was sorting leads the real problem (frame)? How did the work actually change (target operating model)? Was the result delivered (benefits realisation)?
APPLICABILITY
Fits: a big, hard-to-reverse call that a board, an investor or a regulator will want to check.
Doesn't fit: crisis-speed or routine reversible calls, or a question you can't get evidence on from more than one source.
Cost: time, and someone practised at coding evidence.
Before you start: a named owner, a scoped question, evidence from more than one source, and real time.

PUBLIC-RECORD CHECK (label: not disclosed by Vercel; I4, I9, I10, I11, I16, I20, I25, I30, I35). Nine public sources, 6 Nov 2025 to 6 Oct 2026, checked 25 Oct 2026: no before-and-after conversion rate, response time after the agent, leads handled, cost per lead or independent confirmation was found. The nine: the six sources above, plus Tunguz, "When Inbound Sells Itself", 15 Sep 2026 https://tomtunguz.com/single-digit-th... ; SaaStr AI Annual 2026 session page https://www.saastrannual2026.com/sess... ; Taskade summary of the Bredvick post https://www.taskade.com/wiki/ai-agent...
MY ESTIMATE, not a Vercel figure (I32, I33, I34): nine sales development reps cost about $465,000 to $495,000 a year in base pay, or $720,000 at on-target earnings; labour freed for outbound, not a saving. Benchmarks: Payscale, average base $51,677, updated 29 May 2026 https://www.payscale.com/research/US/... ; Bridge Group, "SDR Models, Motions & Metrics: 2025 Research Report", 6 Feb 2025, median base $55K, on-target $80K https://www.bridgegroupinc.com/resear...
