Aitken's Δ² Method Formula and Spreadsheet Implementation (Steffensen's Method Too)

The forward difference operator Δ and its "square" Δ² can be used to define Aitken's Delta-Squared Method (Process). This is a method for accelerating convergence of numerical approximation schemes, such as Newton's Method or function iteration. It can be implemented in an Excel spreadsheet. Steffensen's Method plays off of Aitken's Δ² Method and is harder, but can be done in an Excel spreadsheet as well.
