Golden Globe Race 2026, week 8: Sunday 25 to Saturday 31 October, race days 49 to 55, the whole fleet on the map with the skippers' own voices. The storm forecast the week before reached the fleet. Damien Guillou had turned north east, away from its core, and sailed through under storm jib alone. Andrea Lodolo raced through its edge. In Recife, Louis Kerdelhue announced his retirement. A second low swept through the middle of the fleet: Daniel Pinsky steered by hand under bare poles and a wave broke the vane of his self steering, and Henry Wootton was nearly knocked down during a call with the race office. Then a high stopped most of the fleet, while Damien crossed the Greenwich meridian and stretched his lead to about 760 miles. Fleet maps show every boat's track from the race tracker and the week's model wind, and 3D drawings show Daniel's windvane and Henry's Privateer in the second low.
