MARK'S NOTCAST Ep 360 : Manic Street Preachers "The Ultra Vivid Lament" 2021. 11 February 2024

Released in 2021, the Manics fourteenth album was the first post-Brexit, post-Trump, post-Covid album, and it was - to me at least- a stubbornly inward looking album that wasn't quite what I hoped for. I talk through the album, solo releases, the importance of lyrics, the purpose of art, fan expectations, Kylie Minogue, holy wars, love songs, setlists, touring, facts vs truth vs reality, multiple coloured vinyl editions, What Even Constitutes A Single These Days, and lord knows, a whole bunch of other stuff as well. 11 Feb 2024.
