HINENI (I'll Ask Abba First) — Velvet Witness I'll ask Abba first when the problem feels small. This one started with a set of keys. I came back to Him broken and still used to the dark. I knew what people said about Him, but I didn't know His heart. So I trusted my own hands and only called His name when I'd run out of options. Then one morning I couldn't find my keys, and something in me said don't bother God with foolish things, He has bigger things to do. I recognized that voice. It wasn't reverence. It was one more place to hide. So I asked Him. About keys. It was never about the keys. He was teaching me dependence in the ordinary parts of life — because if I turn to Him for the small things, then when the whole world comes apart I won't have to go looking for Him. I'll already know where He is. In the garden He asked Adam, "Ayeka — where are you?" Not because He couldn't see him. He was calling through the distance. Abraham answered "Hineni." Moses answered it at the flame. Samuel answered it in the night. Isaiah answered it and added, "send me." Here I am. All I have is Yours to give.
