Watch this mystery wood transform into a stunning rustic wood bowl In this ASMR style wood turning video I show how I made a wood bowl from this piece of mystery tree I found. I find the grain patterns, figure and chatoyance to be stunning in this piece. Making for an artistic piece of home decor. I hope you like it! Instead of utilizing a moisture reading device, I use a scale. I just take a weight reading every once in a while. Once the wood gains weight back, I assume the wood has reached a balance level of dry. After the rough turning, or first turning, the piece weighed: March 03 2026 3 lbs 8.05 oz or 56.05 oz March 06 2026 3 lbs 7.25 oz or 55.25 oz March 19 2026 3 lbs 4.65 oz or 52.65 oz April 01 2026 3 lbs 3.30 oz or 51.30 oz May 05 2026 2 lbs 15.70 oz or 47.70 oz May 22 2026 2 lbs 14.80 oz or 46.80 oz July 04 2026 2 lbs 13.90 oz or 45.90 oz July 22 2026 2 lbs 14.00 oz or 46 oz I used boiled linseed oil for sanding sealer, sanded to 240 grit and then used boiled linseed oil as a finish.
